Should a third language be compulsory in CBSE schools from Class 6?

CBSE is phasing in a compulsory third language from 2026-27, with two of three required to be Indian languages. Tamil Nadu calls it disguised Hindi imposition and declined ₹3,458 crore in incentives to keep two languages; the Centre frames it as promoting linguistic diversity.
